Haute Hot Hot Hotel Happy Hours

So...I was chatting with one of my favorite girl cousins who recently moved to town from Michigan (hey Natalie!) she said "Dee where can a single working professional go to have a drink and meet some interesting folks here in Atlanta?" Now my cuz is holding it down...she has little time for late partying as parent to a teenager and really serious about being home in the evening to oversee a teenager with hormones...lol...so her questioned challenged me...where to hang out during the early evening, that is not a hook-up lounge or cruise spot..you know the kind..those places where the party doesn't start till after midnite? ...egad! i got it..there are hot lounges all over town that cater to traveling professionals, and Atlanta executives that need a quick spot to unwind before heading home on a monstrous commute...so ladies and gents i introduce you to my picks for Haute Hot Hot Hotel Bars...

Male Grooming Lounges

Hey guys: You don't think I would leave you out did you? Well trust your girl..I have scoured the city for SPAS FOR MEN ONLY. These "grooming lounges" as they are so elegantly referred range from the "boys in the hood" flava of Good Phellaz to options for John Cougar fans who are looking to get a haircut in a diverse (translation openly gay) environment. The Executive and The Grooming lounge are decidely upscale, but you won't mind the extra bucks... because you'll be too busy kicked back in a recliner - reading your Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition, drinking a heineken and watching their flat screen during your appts! Ahhhhhh..Atlanta truly has something for all huh?

Neighborhood Hot Spots - Compilation of my Faves

Historic Virginia Highland is one of Atlanta's most popular neighborhood for shopping, dining and nightlife. It consists of seven distinct commercial "villages" alternating with short, walkable blocks of charming bungalow homes. Charming sidewalk cafes, cocktails at lively night spots, and innovative cuisine at progressive restaurants and bistros. In addition there are world class salons, boutiques and antique shopping, full service day salons. See all there is to see and do at http://www.virginiahighland.com/attr_rest.html

Historic College Park
Yum! i love The Feed store (the fried green tomatoes), Noodle, and the Pecan. A stone's throw away is Evans Bake shop and Thumbs up Diner; and in Hapeville don't miss Buttersweet Bakery, Jamaica Cove and the ubiquitous Chic-Fil-A dwarf house for (drum roll please) FRIED SWEET POTATO PIES. Did I say yum? Yum!! Come take a stroll when coming back from a long trip at Hartsfield or when you have a day to while away...Historic College Park thanks for making the So'side shine!

Historic Duluth is a collection of unique shops, restaraunts and living spaces that create a quaint walking experience and delicious food. Experience historic duluth at
http://www.duluthga.net/dt/main_street/hdt.html

Historic Norcross is a quaint section of Norcross off N. Cementary and Buford Hwy. It is absolutely charming and chock full of delicious restaraunts including Station Cafe, Mojito's cuban cafe, Northern Star Coffehouse, Paizano's and many others. There are fun shops to browse and a great park across the street for kids. A great way to while away an afternoon!

Little Five Points or “Lil 5” as it is affectionately called is one of Atlanta’s most eclectic neighborhoods. It is a bohemian mix of one of a kind businesses, eating establishments, art and theater. Check out this cool hotspot at http://www.l5p.com/

East Atlanta Village - Atlanta's newest bohemian hip hangout spot..chock full of restaraunts, galleries, coffee shops and tatoo parlors. all mix to give a laid back, let's be 20 something and figure it all out over coffee or a plate of nachos..i love east atlanta village. everytime i go i discover something different. located the few square blocks where glenwood intersects moreland..travel down glenwood a bit further and discover Glenwood park. great hangout for lunch and house browsing as they have great brownstones for sale... http://www.eastatlantavillage.net/

Downtown Decatur is a fun mix of gorgeous homes, businesses, restaraunts and unique shops. There are endless dining options to include big name restaraunts like Ted Montana’s, Ruby Tuesdays, Mick’s and Crescent Moon as well as Mom-and Pop restaraunts with delicious food. The boutiques are fascinating and there always festivals and things to do on the weekends. See all Downtown Decatur has to offer http://www.decaturga.com/cgs_citysvcs_ced_sdsguide.aspx

Historic Stone Mountain Village is a great way to spend a day shopping for antiques, collectibles, fine art, and speciality gifts. Along the way stop for a smoothie at Continental Coffee and Sweets, catch a slice at Mama Mia’s Pizza, or make like a southern belle and enjoy a leisurely lunch of fine Southern cuisine at Sycamore Grill. Historic Stone Mountain Village is easily accessible off HWY 78 and directions can be found at http://www.stonemountainvillage.com/index.htm

Historic Roswell is one of my newest discoveries as myself and my young un’s love the Fickle Pickle, Relish, Swallow at the Hollow and Greenwood’s on Green Street.
